Child Support Handbook 2009/10

The Child Support Handbook is the standard guide for parents, lawyers and other advisers. The new 17th edition is fully updated to give clear, practical guidance to the child support scheme as it applies from 2009 through to autumn 2010. It outlines the structure of the system now that the Child Support Agency is part of the Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission (CMEC).

The Child Support Handbook explains:

• how to apply and how to withdraw an application, and the new Child Maintenance Options service;
• how maintenance is calculated;
• the powers of the Child Support Agency to pursue maintenance and seek information;
• conversions and transitional provisions;

• challenging decisions and making complaints.
